Now Rand I know you said Hell NO!!!!!!! when you saw the subject line but hear me out.
For the teams that have 45 players on their team and lets say one of their players is injured for an extended period of time. They can be allowed to sign someone to take their spot and not have it counted against them.
Kind of like it is in real baseball. One gets injured and goes on the DL for 2 weeks so they can add someone to their roster and not have it counted against them.
And when the player is healthy again they have to release a player to get to the 45 man limit again.
So basically we would be rewording the rule to "45 healthy men roster limit".

In real baseball they have 40 man rosters, and manage to get by somehow
