Nothing major, nothing frightening. Don't Panic!
Scott is still running the league, and will be running it through the end of the WS. I'm letting you know about this stuff since some of it is just over a couple of weeks away.
Helpers wanted. I'll be looking for volunteers to help with a few league duties. Waivers/roster tracking, bonuses tracking, draft tracking, free agency monitors, contract negotiation checkers (tentative), Web Site update and maintenance, maybe other things later on. Please email or PM me if you're interested.
NOTE: BFFL members please hold off, I'll be looking for the same things over there too.
Holidays:
TMBL will be officially closed for the coming holidays.
Thanksgiving (U.S.) - Off from November 24 through November 29 inclusive
Christmas & New Years - Off from December 23 through January 2 inclusive
(other holiday breaks will be added later)
During these periods sims will Not be run, free agency, waivers, and all timer clocks (like the draft clock) will be frozen. Owners can still post changes, make trades, etc, if they wish, otherwise go be with your families and friends - the league will wait.
File Advance (off season): After the re-signing deadline (tentative Nov 5 for all teams), the file will be advanced directly to April 1. The draft will go on the clock 24 hours after the file is posted. Free agency will open three days later. I'll post and email the exact dates at soon as I know them.
Draft Change: Similar to how Dave does it at OSML, we'll be going to a Pass and Jump-In method in the next draft. If an owner times out for the first time, his team will be marked as Pass and he will be allowed to post his pick any time before the round is over. If an owner with one of the last five picks in the round times out, his team will be marked as Pass and he will be allowed a 2 day grace period to post his pick even if the round is over.
If the owner whose team passed do not jump in to post a pick before the round is over, or before the 2 day grace period is up, his team will get a list pick and will be set to list for the rest of the draft.
Note that being set to pass means that the owners up after that team will make their picks, and if a Passed owner jumps in he can not draft players taken by owners who selected after his team timed out.
If an owner times out a second time in the same draft, his team will get a list pick and will be set to list for the rest of the draft.
I'm considering adding more time to the draft clock, but I'll need owner feedback first. I'll post a poll soon and let you all know.
Draft Penalty Amnesty: Any team(s) set for forced list picks in the 1986 draft due to timing out in the 1985 draft are pardoned.
