This has been brought up a couple times now and I would like to see what the exact feeling of the league is at this point.

I don't see why we would draft more rounds. There is not much quality left by the end of the fourth round, and to top it all, several owners lose interest starting in the third round, take more time to draft and even time out.
We have run free agency and the draft at the same time once before, and while the experience was interesting, I personnally had a hard time combining my scouting for free agents and rookies at the same time. I can see why some owners liked it, I just didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

I agree 100% with Terry on this. The 4th round has been particularly painful over the years.

This is not about adding more rounds, which we don't need and which would add 25% - 50% more work for the commissioner when it's time to get the amateurs placed.
This is about not stopping and wasting time with a useless Nov file and March file, instead going right to April 1 and letting owners see what they can afford to spend on free agents while at the same time allowing us to get the amateur draft started soon enough to get it done without too much pressure and angst.
Let's not confuse things here.

I do not want to see more rounds either Its just that the long layover between November and April kind of puts me to sleep.

With a 80% to 20% vote, and only 6 owners abstaining it appears, we are going to go this route starting next offseason.
There are a couple of disadvantages as stated above and in earler threads, but these are heavily outweighed by keeping everyone's interest through the offseason.
