While team General Manager Paul Santolin is still recovering from the shock of this year's World Series, it is time to ask the question - How did a team with a nearly 66% shot at taking the title blow a 3-1 series lead with home field advantage?
Is the answer inexperience?
Is the answer non-attendance in the sim so that adjustments could be made?
Is the answer the fact that TMBL just loves the underdog?
A degree of soul searching will be happening here in Toronto, but I must say, the fact that I lost the World Series has actually upset me! I've played in two of the longest BBM online leagues and this was my first World Series (after about nearly 25 seasons between the two leagues!). I was pleasantly surprised by this great playoff run and thought that the title was a near lock.
Congratulations to the Philies on a great comeback, but I promise you this, 1984 will not be the last time the Jays appear in the Fall Classic!
Cheers all!

Dude! You won 90 games on the season, usually good for a 2nd place finish and maybe a wildcard, then got past a 102 game winner in the LDS, a 109 game winner in the LCS, and took a series against the NL leading 105 game winner to 7 games. This is like Cinderella crying because she only got rescued from her miserable family and poverty by getting married to a rich and handsome prince instead of being appointed ruler of the known universe.

The Jays playoffs run looked a lot like the Expos run in 1982. The 87-75 Expos surprised the 98-64 Reds in the first round, swept the 99-63 Pirates in the second round before almost pulling an upset in a 7 game World Series against the 100-62 Mariners. A disappointing finish, but in no way a shock - the real shock was getting there!

Absolutely - As I said, I didn't expect to get there, but once I got there and saw (based on the single season simulator) that I was the "favourite" I kind of got my hopes up. I didn't expect to get out of the 1st round (see my predictions in the playoff contest!).
That being said, the post was supposed to be more of a comedic one than anything else.
