I don't really want to go looking through each team for Free Agent bargains, But I think it would be pretty cool for someone to go through and rank the top bargains of 1985 Free agents. but if no one wants to, it would also be cool if each individual team would throw out there own top bargains. My top 2 bargains would be SP Tom Hausman and SP Rob Dressler. Hausman- 208 IP, 2.94 ERA, 19-3 record probably a Cy Young candidate...Signed 1 year at the minimum 400k. Dressler- 210.2 IP, 3.59 ERA, 17-3 record...signed 2 years at 4mil.

At the same time, some players were awarded expensive contracts and did little, such as RF Jeff Burroughs, signed at $4M by the Mets for 86 at-bats only. C Bo Diaz earned $3M from the A's to bat .215 over 67 games. Let's not forget of course the Expos own ridiculous signature of 3B Mike Schmidt at $4.5M for a shameful .184 batting mark before he was sent packing. Mention also needs to be made for 2B Phil Garner, who received $10M from the Twins. That's a lot of money for 134 at bats and a player who already began to crash...
