Five of my 8 starting players are before their peak as well - and both of our teams are in first place. I don't hate the idea of playing someone before his peak starts. But some people wait for the peak to start for various reasons. Maybe they believe it's better to start the players when the game feels they're ready. I start them when I feel they're ready.
But in some cases, I might be more patient with a player and leave him in the minors because I keep getting screwed up variations when making sims with him. It also depends on how much time the player is away from peak at the time of the draft. 2-3 years away, it might be benefitial to leave him in AAA a little. But when a player is 11 years away from peak, at some point it becomes a complete waste of time to leave him in the minors.
A rookie who's not in peak yet can still be considered a prospect: he will continue to improve and hone his skills. A rookie who started his peak will not improve anymore. Leaving him in AAA for whatever reasons (other than for injuries) doesn't help him improve on any aspect of his game. He won't get better, therefore even if he's a rookie, he's just not a prospect anymore.

Have you got any feedback from the minority who voted against waivers? Are we going to lose any owners once this is implemented? I don't know who voted against, and we've only had comments from about five or six owners. I don't see what a players "peak" has to do with anything. {omit} Everyones "peak" performance is unique to each individual player. Yet, wrong or right, it's still the way we play, and pre-peak players being held as sacrosanct if the owner chooses to keep them in the farm is virtually a way of life in most BBM leagues. If I make all players who look ready, even though they're pre-peak, waivers eligible, we'll become a ghost town. Hell, I'd probably curse myself out and then storm out on me in a huff

If this is not implemented and the draft lottery remains implemented i will leave, and i've stated that once already. I dont care much about the peak, but the point of this whole rule is that in the majors your not going to send a Soriano to the minors because he demands 15+ mil a season long term. Your not going to bench Greg Maddux in his prime so that he wont ask 12-14mil like he deserves. Your going to play them, your going to decide to trade them maybe, but your more than likely going to have to give them what they want and have to make adjustments at other positions. As far as non peaked players being in the minors, at least non peaked players have room for improvement. It's too hard to go around and say "Well he hits .290 in the minors but he hits 50 HR's, he should be in the majors", because 50 HR's and .290 in the minors equates to .210 and 25-30 HR in the majors a lot of times, esspecially on my team in my stadium. If i dont have a team ready to go, im wasting my time bringing someone not at full potential up.

At least three other times I can think of off hand. Waivers has passed, but you really need to stop threatening to quit. Your other points in the post above are good and reflect what others of us have been saying, but the " I'll leave" part has to go. I understand there are aspects of the league that you feel very strongly about, and that's exactly the attitude I'd like all our owners to have, but the weekly threat to quit ends now one way or another.

Your getting tired of hearing me say it, and im getting tired of saying it. I felt it was a decent answer to a question posed in this case though. If you want to know why im so anal about this, its because z10.invisionfree.com/jordansmith123/index.php?act=idx is a league currently going through the same thing, and its getting to the point there where people are playing guys with overalls around 60 when they have players around 95 at that position healthy so that they can get a better draft pick, and they are also putting guys on the bench (which equals the minors here) so that they dont make as much money. Everyone over there has gotten relatively tired, we stand to lose about 5-10 GM's out of 30 there if it doesn't stop. So whats the point of saying that? this league is no where close to that, and i hope people never go that far for a stupid draft pick. If we'd just treat quality players with respect and pay them what they deserve, then maybe the waiver system isnt needed. At this point i still see two or three players who are going to get paid less than they deserve, and maybe Deron Johnson was one of those same guys. If thats the case you can take an older file sim it out and see what he demands after playing the rest of the season as my starting 1B, and i wont fuss at all.

If some version of the new rule proposal passes it could simplify waivers!
Any player uninjured and peaked in the minors would be eligible for waivers. Have compensation for players lost or not.

I'm thinking that teams will need their players for the expansion draft. We're only talking about three more seasons before the four new teams are going to raid the current teams for around 100 to 125 of their players. That's an average of five or six players lost per team.
